Smithing is a production skill which turns ores and bars into a variety of metal amour and weapons. It uses ores from the mining skill at furnaces to turn them into bars, and then the bars are used on anvils to smith weapons or amour.

Smelting

Smelting is the process of turning the ores obtained through Mining into bars to smith or craft with later. Bring your ore to a furnace to be smelted. You can either use the primary ore on the furnace to begin or click the furnace to open a menu.

Smithing is the process of turning the smelted bars into weapons, armour, and tools. Here is a table that shows what level you can smith different weapons and armours at for each type of bar.

Furnace & Anvil Sites

Smithing site at ::SZ

Skilling Zone's Furnace and Anvil

This site provides a furnace for smelting your bars and an anvil to smith equipment. It has a convenient bank nearby if you need one. It is located directly north of the teleport location.

Furnace donator zone

The donator location is a little more compact and situated to the east of the main building. It has all the needs for smithing; A furnace, anvil, and bank.

Training

Everything created in Smithing is proportionate to the amount of bars used, creating an item requiring 5 bars will provide the same experience as creating 5 items that require 1 of the same type of bar. This being the case, things using a higher number of bars will grant xp faster do to using the bars quicker. For this, the best platebody for each bar type is the fastest route

Level 1 to 33

In this level range, you will want to work your way to bronze platebodies. When you reach 18, you will proceed to make the platebodies until level 33.

Here, you will want to make Iron platebodies until level 49

Useful Tips

  • Skill of The Hour
    • Changing every hour, the Skill of The Hour grants an experience boost of 25% ecumenically in a designated skill.
  • Pool of Prosperity
    • The Pool of Prosperity is an object in the game located at home. When filled, it grants an experience boost of 10% to all players for its duration.
  • Goldsmith gauntlets
    • These gauntlets increase the experience gained by ~2.5x when smelting or superheating gold bars. They are obtained from the Voting Store for 15 .
  • Other Skills
    • You may want bars or platebodies for the Summoning skill. Minotaur and titan pouches require these materials.
    • Bolts, dart tips and arrow tips are used for Fletching skill to make ammunition for the Ranged skill.
    • There ae certain high end items that require a smithing level to piece together, such as a Godsword blade.
  • Prestige Perks
    • There are some useful Prestige Perks you may want before training Herblore. These include the following:
