Walkthrough[edit | edit source]

To start the quest, talk to the Queen of Arigon, who can be found east of the AFK arena at Home. Bring a spade with you.

The Queen will then ask you to go and speak with Effigy (an NPC). Effigy can be found just outside of the Tower of Life. Teleport to Ardougne (Cities > Ardougne) and run to the south-east.

Effigy will instruct you to go to Canifis and speak to the Half-soulless. Teleport to Canifis (Cities > Canifis) and run west towards the bridge.

The Half-soulless will tell you to go North towards the Slayer Tower to find a farm to its east. Enter the house and search the crate directly north of the door. Then go back outside and dig (with your shovel) next to the east-facing window to find the Mask part 4.

Before proceeding to the next stage, ensure that you are sufficiently stocked with Stamina Potions, a full inventory of food (Sharks or better), and have two free inventory spaces.

Return to Effigy. After a brief dialogue, Effigy will offer to teleport you to a maze.

Warning: For your first trip through the maze, you will not have the mask completed and able to equip. Without the mask equipped your 'Insanity' will build and will instantly kill you after 3 minutes in the maze. 3 minutes is plenty of time to navigate the maze (see screenshot), but death here will result in a HCIM death.

Once you are sufficiently prepared, accept the teleport from Effigy.

Make your way all the way through the maze (screenshot), working towards the top-right corner. Run through the Elite Black Demon cave (open cave, eastern side). Run north past the Elite Demons. There will be a trapdoor and a skeleton cage. Search the skeleton cage to find the last mask piece.

After collecting the mask piece, teleport home (::home) to replenish your inventory and prepare for the final boss fight. Bring a Stamina potion for one more trip through the maze.

Ranged is the recommended combat style for this fight. Saradomin Brews and Super Restores are recommended, however high-healing food (Sharks or better) and Prayer potions should be sufficient for higher level (90+ range) builds.

Once ready for your last trip through the maze, bring the mask piece back to Effigy.

After a brief dialogue, Effigy will teleport you back to the maze. After this teleport, the Mask of dragith nurn will be added to your inventory. Equip the mask prior to running through the maze to prevent "Insanity" and the persistent damage experienced in the first run through.

With the mask equipped, proceed through the maze to the Elite Demon Cave. Pray Protect from Melee and kill one of the Elite Demons. Once a demon is killed, you will be teleported into the final boss fight against the Demon Lord.

Once inside, turn on your Protect from Ranged prayer and prepare for the fight!

The Demon Lord fight has two phases. The mechanics of both are similar. The Demon Lord will summon tendrils on the ground. Avoid standing in the circles. Keep up your Protect from Ranged prayer and stay out of melee range and the Demon Lord will be down in no time.

Once killed, you will be teleported back to Effigy. After a brief dialogue with Effigy, he will instruct you to go and talk to the Queen of Arigon. Teleport back home (::home) and talk with her. There will be another brief dialogue and then Quest Complete!
